Washington, D.C. – U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Jon Dudas will be joined by David Fink, president and CEO of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the agency's new exhibit, “Shoes: Innovations at Your Feet” on July 13.

Visitors to the museum will learn the history of patented footwear, view stylish innovations, and see how people customize their shoes for work. “ Shoes: Innovations At Your Feet ” is an entertaining view of all kinds of footwear. The exhibit incorporates 19 th century models of patented shoe inventions as well as recent accomplishments of the footwear industry, including children, work, comfort and fashion shoes.
